National Waterfront Museum
Swansea is home to the National Waterfront Museum, which chronicles the maritime and industrial history of the city by the seaside. It is divided into two sections. The first one, People, Communities and Lives, shows you just what impact the Industrial Revolution has had on the day-to-day lives of Welsh people and the rest of the world. Examine pictures, video footage and audio recordings that reveal the social relevance. This section also has the latest in touch technology: the interactive display lets you wave your hands to go over digital street maps of the past...Practical information

.. Dig into Welsh maritime history as deep as you like; you can literally spend hours checking historical and modern objects. The other section, Transport, Materials and Networks is housed in a beautiful, state-of-the-art glass building. Here you'll learn about major innovations which changed businesses such as mining, metal manufacture and transport: it features one of the oldest steam locomotives in the world, one of only a handful of remaining pre-1914 aeroplanes, a huge tilt hammer and a tinplate rolling mill. You'll also want to take a walk around the complex, because both the glass house and the 1902 dockside warehouse are as impressive on the outside as on the inside!
