What is Tate Britain?

London's Tate Britain is home to the national collection from 1500 onwards, as well as one of the premium locations to visit if you love modern and contemporary art from international artists. Choose from a range of daily activities to include on your visit: for example, the free guided tours feature experts who will take you around the museum and highlight impressive and important works of art. Liminal is a different experience altogether: it's a hands-on event for both adults and children, as it is a physical and social tour of sculpture, where you can touch and interact with sculptures. If you really want to make it count, you can (in advance) set up a tour-for-two with that special someone, and top it off with a champagne meal for two at the beautiful Rex Whistler Restaurant. It features the specially commissioned mural The Expedition in Pursuit of Rare Meats, made by Whistler himself. If you're bringing the kids, they can eat for free on your tab! There are lots of fun activities for families, so don't hesitate to bring them along! Tate is a great starting point for the appreciation of art, and the gift shops sells cards, books, posters, and many more items which will make the memory more tangible.
