Welsh Mountain Zoo

Overlooking the shores of Colwyn Bay in North Wales is the Welsh Mountain Zoo, with its spectacular array of rare and endangered animals. Whether you love seeing mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians or invertebrates, you're guaranteed to find something to your liking here. Among the mammal collection are spectacular animals like the brown bear, California sea lion, smart chimpanzees, elusive snow leopards, gibbons, meerkats, wallabies and Sumatran tigers. See them in cleverly designed enclosures, giving you a feeling of actually seeing them in the wild! You can also check out hawks, Humboldt penguins, ostriches, condors and macaws. Reptiles include tortoises, geckos and Mississippi alligators. There's enough here to keep your eyes peeled all day! Be sure to keep your ears peeled too, though, as the keepers will tell you all about the animals they care for during daily feeding talks. If you book in advance, you can even tag along with a keeper for the whole day! You'll get the chance to feed animals, clean after them, and to get a unique insight into their life at the zoo.
